Justin Tranel
Sales Manager
Justin has been in the Flooring and Furniture Business all his life. As a teenager he worked in the warehouse, loaded & unloaded trucks, assisted Installers, delivered furniture and set up floor displays; he has truly done it all.
Starting in Sales at 18 years old, Justin quickly excelled at customer service. He managed Oak Street Furniture before the merging of the 3 Businesses into Interiors …by design. In 2015 Justin accepted a Territory Managers Position with a major Flooring Company and again excelled at building up his Territory and providing excellent Customer Service.
At the end of 2019, after 4 years of being on the road, Justin returned to Interiors … by design as our Sales Manager and we are so excited to have him back. He brings a wealth of knowledge from both sides of the Industry and a keen insight into cutting edge products along with valuable Business connections. Justin will be great addition and leader to our staff at Interiors … by design.
LYNN FORD
INTERIOR DESIGNER & CABINET SPECIFIER
Lynn specializes in many aspects of interior design, such as custom built cabinetry, furniture design, and home décor. With her Bachelors of the Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Technology, Lynn brings modern and chic interior design styles to our customer’s homes. By working 27 years as a commercial space planner, Lynn has learned how to execute new construction and home remodels flawlessly. Every day Lynn comes into the office with the stores philosophy “We can do it all” allowing her to succeed in every opportunity, large or small to help make her clients realize that their home renovation needs can come true.
JENNIFER WINTRESS
DESIGN CONSULTANT

Jennifer Wintress received her B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Georgia and her M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Iowa. Jennifer has served as an Art Gallery Curator and an Assistant Professor of Art for over 4 years, teaching painting, drawing, and textiles. Her background in teaching and curation allows her to bring color theory and space management into dialog with interior design. Jennifer loves working with clients to help make their vision a reality!
Matthew Drake
Accounting Manager
Matt is our devoted Accounting Manager with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Dubuque.
After his March graduation in 2019, Matt started here as our Accounting Manager, bringing a wide variety of positive, customer centered experiences to Interiors… by Design. He is dedicated to his work and is driven by a strong passion for helping our clients fulfill their dream projects in a smooth, effortless fashion.
He is married with three children; is an active member in our community volunteering his time, when he can, as well as being a Certified Management Accountant candidate, and pursuing his Master’s in Accounting

I have been Blessed to be in Business for over 27 years. Opening in 1993 as The Floor Emporium, we quickly became the favorite choice for customers looking for the best selection, quality and price, in flooring products.
While excelling in remodels and new construction, I saw an opportunity to expand into furniture. Oak Street Furniture was purchased and added to our lineup in 1996. The decision to add Amish Furniture played a large part in our expansion and fit perfectly with our “Quality you deserve at a price you can afford” motto. In 1998 we grew again by opening a Leather Gallery to our existing showroom complementing our Business.
In 2006 we had run out of room in our current location, so we added space at the opposite end of the building and expanded both the furniture and flooring business. At the same time, we added a 3rd business, Amish Heirloom Cabinetry to the mix. We also began offering Granite, Quartz and laminate countertops.
After the economy slowed in 2009-2012, we decided to do another remodel and combine all 3 businesses, thus the birth of Interiors … by design. Adding Bedding, Blinds and Accessories to our product offering now meant we were truly a one-stop shop for our customers. We are proud to have evolved while still concentrating on “Made in the USA” products first.
As I have said…. I have been Blessed to serve Dubuque and the Tri-State area for over 27 years.
